Ready To Role

By popular demand, we have some great Seafaring Adventure Seeds today! We set sail across the oceans and seas into a world of nautical novelty!

I had a lot of fun coming up with these, but some are more closely aligned to adventure or encounter ideas that simple seeds. Sometimes the ideas I had needed to be a bit more developed to break the normal mold since there is so many basic types of encounters that start, and potentially end, in the ocean.

I have no assumptions this time around other than what is stated in the individual seeds themselves, but I do urge you to frame them however you want! For instance, if a seed mentions witnessing a ship do something or hearing a rumor, by all means make the ship that something happened to your players’ ship and catch them off guard! Vice versa for…

Raul Julia: The Greatest Video Game Movie Villan

TWO BEARD GAMING

moviehead

Raul Julia was a legend of his time but his untimely death sadly deprived us of what could have gone on to be one of the greatest sustained careers in Hollywood. For those of you growing up as a ’90s kid, Julia was more than likely known for his excellent portrayal of Gomez Addams in two big screen outings of the spooky Addams Family. But he also took on the mantle of playing M. Bison, one of the baddest villains in video game history in the 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme flick Street Fighter: The Movie. Let’s not beat about the bush, the film was 1 hour 42 minutes of the highest calibre trash but we’ll save that story for another day.

Julia who was 54 at the time of shooting and only agreed to take the role at the demand of his children, who naturally were as obsessed with the…

Raids week 124

Micki's Delirium

I wasn’t able to do the raids last week, and I’ve also been too busy to do the blog for the raids the week before, so here it is finally. Raids 124 happened May 18, 2019. I was also feeling quite tired during raids and after 4 raids I felt done for the night. I believe Osi did one more raid after I logged.

1. Old Baba’s Hut R1
Shambler tank: Osiride, split for sides: left side Sokos + Lubash (who I keep calling Soko even though he isn’t), right side Phoenix Clan (my guild) and Lobfist. With Sokos (and Lubash) and my guild, we only had 1 free spot that was offered in EEraids channel. I was looking a bit at my stats with buffs (the picture I added). Tahlua took red crows, I helped kill lesser crows and a bit with puzzles, but tried to let others have…

25 Wizard Tower Adventure Seeds

Ready To Role

We’re back with more Adventure Seeds, and today we take a trip to the wizard’s tower outside of town! I wanted to challenge myself yet again by using a very narrow geographic area that is also highly specialized. Needless to say, a challenge it was!

A lot of these started out as ideas that could be encounters or traps within the tower, and I reverse-engineered them to come up with a more general seed to use. Of course, this worked better for some more than others, so some of these seeds may be a bit more direct in their direction than seeds in previous installments. Still, it was fun writing these, and I look forward to writing the next set! Anyway, here are all the assumptions I made when writing these:

  • The tower is a single structure, potentially with a shed or other small outdoor building…

Retro Gaming Memories – My First Computer: Amstrad CPC 464 [Editorial]

TWO BEARD GAMING

genericheader

Do you remember your first computer or games console? I do. I won’t try to surprise you with what it was, because quite honestly, the answer is in the title of this piece, and I’m fairly certain you’ve clicked on it because you too were an Amstrad kid.

I don’t remember exactly how old I was when I got my Amstrad CPC 464 with full-colour monitor for Christmas, but I remember how excited I was to see this monolith sized piece of tech in the corner of our dining room after opening all of my other presents. I recall how my parents had hidden it under a sheet, and I’d noticed – because how could you not? Amstrad’s were MASSIVE – but I had no clue just what they were hiding.

Once the surprise was unveiled I stood in awe at my very first computer. I’d never owned a single…

Ilyana's Tomb of Doom

isabelj08BhH

Dear Kindred,

Surely fortune is my strumpet, for my assassin, Rava, has progressed in reducing the incurable friction between the rise of my cult and the established cults of Neverwinter. Now there is doubt in the minds of the power brokers, and they are more likely to parley than resist.  It is in time, time and the plying of gold that creates a mold, and the mold always grows into a general rotting of constitution. In this way, Rava’s cold-blooded murders transcend the physical, entering the metaphysical where anything can happen. For this I must say, excellent work, Rava.

Rava, meet Ilyania, a powerful assest to our cause. I mistakenly left her on another world, thinking it best to give her room to grow into her powers without my interference. However, Dark Fortune has played in our favor. While death is the general end to mortal and immortal, it seems…

25 Mountain Pass Adventure Seeds

Ready To Role

This installment of Adventure Seeds brings us through a winding mountain pass that sees a lot of traffic among merchants and travelers. I wanted another “on the road” set of seeds that could be placed anywhere and shift between pockets of civilized company and untamed wilderness.

As I continue to work on non-civilized seeds, like last year’s Frozen Wastes, I continue to find it easier to write them. The setting of a mountain pass is great as it contains different layers that I can play with. You have the lower levels, likely temperate and full of easy trails. You can go up a bit with howling winds, winding roads, and dangerous tunnels. And then you have the very top, where icy winds whip across your face, visibility is limited, and unknown monsters have all the advantage they could ask for. But while this is my vision, you…

Gamer Crash Predicts E3 2019: Third Party Games

Gamer Crash

Welcome to my E3 2019 predictions! Today we’re looking at the Third Party games you just might be seeing. In case you missed it, check my predictions on Nintendo and Xbox.

And now we move on to the most lengthy and difficult topic to predict of E3: the Third Party Games. If the recent rumors are true, fans should expect plenty of very cool and exciting announcements this year, even if Sony won’t be on hand to deliver some of them as usual. With the Next Gen consoles on the horizon, 2019 could be a very important year to capitalize on the market.

gamerPredicts

Obviously, we have games that we 100% know will be there. I’m listing them out but I won’t be spending too much additional time discussing them because, where’s the fun in that? Let’s get to the rumors, leaks, and speculation!

This year, I’ve broken this feature…

The Inquisitorial Procedure

Return to House of Grouse

Todays title comes from the introductory track on Axel Rudi Pells album Into the Storm, it was going to be Monty Python but rock is more my mood today. So the Masterminds of Sharn expansion is here but I have no idea of the wilderness or quests yet. However I have focused on the Inquisitor universal enhancement tree. Which is strange as I tried to find it as soon as I had access but hadn’t realised it could be dropped down and selected from another universal tree. The other thing that seems buggy is that to utilise it I had to accept it with a single point spent before I could fill up the rest of it. Not sure if this is working as intended or just trying to drive me nuts.

Now this is a very different feel to the other Universal enhancements which is great as it adds…
